Hey there, hi there, ho there! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney, Lauren! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Oh my goodness, a honeymoon at Walt Disney World is truly a dream come true! You must be so excited to kick off your lifetime of love and happiness at
The Most Magical Place on Earth! I really cannot think of a better way to celebrate, can you?! Speaking of celebrations, did you know that you’ll be visiting during Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration? How lucky is that? There is so much to enjoy during The World's Most Magical Celebration, including the stunning
Beacons of Magic throughout all four theme parks. You'll love how the legendary theme park icons have been transformed into EARIdescent wonders of light and color. They really take your breath away, so be sure to take some pictures together to save a special memento from your incredible honeymoon!
You are so right, Lauren; the
Disney Dining Plan truly was a fabulous way to enjoy some of the incredible dining locations throughout Walt Disney World! But unfortunately, there has been no official word on when the Disney Dining Plan may return. So, at this time, there is no way of knowing if it will be back in time for your honeymoon.
I know that may be a bummer, but have you considered using Disney gift cards as an alternative? It’s such a nifty trick that I actually learned from some of my fellow planDisney Panelists. They recommend checking out the restaurant’s menus and prices via the Walt Disney World Website and putting together a maximum food budget for your trip based on where you plan to dine. Then, you can just purchase a
Disney gift card for that exact amount you’ll need for food and only use your gift card for dining purchases during your day. This way, you won’t go over budget and can still feel like you have “pre-paid” for all of your meals! Pretty clever, right?
Lauren, when you arrive for your trip, don’t forget to pick up a FREE “I’m Celebrating” button from your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel’s front desk or Guest Relations at any of the parks. You can write something like “Being Newlyweds!” or “Our Wedding!” and sport your buttons with pride as you stroll through the parks. You’d be surprised by how many people will stop to congratulate you, which is super fun!
I hope this has been helpful to you! I just know the food throughout Walt Disney World will be one of the highlights of your honeymoon. If you have any other questions or want to hear some restaurant recommendations, please don't hesitate to reach out again!
Happy honeymooning!
