Hiya, James,
While we won’t be able to see the exact park hours for the Disneyland Resort during April for a few more weeks, we can get a basic idea of what to expect by looking at the
calendar for March. April will still be during the popular Spring Break season in Southern California, which means it is quite
likely that the theme parks will have extended hours, especially on the weekends. Note that hours are subject to change without notice. So it’s best to keep an eye on the published calendar for the latest information. Also, except in the cases of a
special after-hours event, it is usually the case that Disneyland Park has longer hours than Disney California Adventure Park.
As to the question of
fireworks spectaculars, again, we will need to wait to see the published calendar to know for sure. But the trend that I’m seeing from the March calendar is that it is fairly likely that daily fireworks shows will continue through the remainder of the Spring Break season. I will say that even if fireworks are not presented during
Mickey’s Mix Magic, the evening spectacular currently showing at the Disneyland Resort, the music and projections are still amazing and extremely fun even when not paired with pyrotechnics. And when
Disneyland Forever returns to the Disneyland Resort sometime this year, Guests may experience another example of glorious projection mapping and outstanding music even when not accompanied by fireworks.
Tony’s Tip: If there are specific
entertainment offerings that you are especially keen to experience, I recommend planning to attend them earlier during your visit rather than later. Should technical issues, weather, or other events cause a show to be canceled or modified, you will still hopefully have a chance to enjoy it later during your visit. This is also a great reason to consider purchasing
Park Hopper tickets so that you have more flexibility to go between the two theme parks to catch all the shows you wish to see.
I’m so glad you are getting ready to experience the magic of the Disneyland Resort and
Walt Disney’s Original Magic Kingdom, James. If you should have any more questions about your visit, please don’t hesitate to visit us again here at planDisney.
