Congratulations on your upcoming trip! My family always visits during the summer months as well. I I think the beginning of June is a great choice for your family. Many schools are still in session in the early part of the month, and the parks have consequently not reached "peak" levels yet. In addition, while it is warm in early June, it's not nearly as hot as late August.
As you can imagine, my position on this panel makes me a bit "biased"! I don't actually think that there is a "bad" time to go to Disney! I think a family has to consider a number of factors, including when "folks" can take vacation, children's school and activities, budget and personal preference. I think you will be very happy with a June trip!
