Due to special needs, is what is the best way to rent a car for a few hours after we arrive so i can go to the store and get supplies for a weeks stay

Hi there Denise! Great minds think alike! I was just considering this very same option for my family's next trip to Walt Disney World!

There are several places on Disney property where you can pick up or return a rental car. If you are staying at a Disney resort, the Walt Disney World Car Care Center which is operated by Alamo and National, can arrange for a shuttle to pick you up and take you back to your hotel upon return of the vehicle. Simply call the Car Care Center up to 24 hours in advance at (407) 824-3470 and arrange for them to send a shuttle to you. Another option would be to stop by the front desk of your Disney resort hotel and ask them to contact the shuttle on your behalf.  Be sure to book your car rental online in advance for the best possible deals. A great unofficial resource for savings is www.mousesavers.com and then, type in "rental car discounts" in the search box at the top of the page.

If you are staying offsite, check with your hotel to see if they offer a rental car desk in the lobby or can assist you with coordinating this service.

An alternative option to renting a car for your groceries is to utilize a service that will do the shopping for you and then, deliver your items to the hotel. You can find out more at these two websites: www.gardengrocer.com and www.wegoshop.com. I've used Garden Grocer in the past with excellent results.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions our way in the days leading up to your trip! May your Disney vacation be practically perfect in every way!
