Due to several traumatic car accidents and a fear of heights, my mom doesn’t enjoy any kind of ride that’s fast, “bumpy”, or in the air. As a result, she hasn’t enjoyed many of our previous Disney vacations. What kind of alternatives does WDW have for her?

    Hello Jacqueline,

Our Moms sound very similar...although it was a personal preference for my Mom's more than it being a result of a traumatic event. Nonetheless, my Mom loved going to Disney. It is, after all, the happiest place on Earth!

I think there's a few things you can do to help your Mom this time around. Make sure you take note of the attractions that have health restrictions posted at the entrances. I'd shy away from rides like Test Track, Dumbo (because of her fear of heights) and even Kilimanjaro Safaris. And have her take advantage of the many shops and restaurants that are located near these attractions while your family is on the rides.

Now that doesn't mean there aren't attractions for the entire family. Your Mom will be able to take part in or ride things like:
    • American Adventure in Epcot (one of my favorites!)
    • Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom
    • The Great Movie Ride in Hollywood Studios
    • Beauty and the Beast live on stage in Hollywood Studios
    • Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom
    • The Seas with Nemo and Friends in Epcot
    • PhilharMagic in Magic Kingdom
Since your Mom will be joining you for another trip to the World, I think she's ready for a fun filled vacation.

    Hope this helps!

Meet the Panelist: Monina, Ohio

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
