Due to rain, we would like to cancel our park reservation on the same day we're supposed to go. Can we do this, and what are our rescheduling options?

Hi there Siegfried! Welcome to planDisney! We are so glad you stopped by with your question all the way from Switzerland!

While I'm hoping the rain, rain, rain does not come down, down, down on your trip, as Winnie the Pooh likes to sing, I can understand wanting to hold out for a day when that California sun is shining bright! Seeing Sleeping Beauty Castle sparkle in the sunlight is truly a sight to behold!

From your question, I believe you have already made a theme park reservation and likely also have a valid theme park ticket in hand. Before canceling a reservation, it's always a good idea to take a peek at the theme park reservation calendar to see if your new date is available. Park reservations can be canceled up until 11:59 p.m. PST the night before your arrival. While there is no penalty if you do not cancel the reservation, you will not be able to make a new reservation until that day has passed as the system is still holding a spot for you. I do like to recommend going ahead and canceling if you know you will not be attending as it opens up a spot for another guest and you just make a little magic in their day!

To reschedule, just simply click back into the theme park reservation calendar and choose your new date. If you have single-day tickets, you will need to choose a date that is in the same pricing tier or lower than your original. If this is not the case, I suggest contacting Guest Services to discuss the possibility of upgrading.

If the rain, rain, rain does find you while you are at the Happiest Place on Earth, have no fear! There are some wonderful off-the-beaten-path spots to duck into for cover. At Disneyland ParkSleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough is one of my absolute favorite secret finds. I didn't even know it existed for many years until a friend showed me the way! A feature very unique to Disneyland Park, you can climb your way into the castle and follow the story of Briar Rose and her Prince! My husband is a huge history buff and he loves The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Hearing and seeing President Lincoln talk about his life just gets him every time! If you find yourself in Disney California Adventure Park, make your way to the Animation Academy where you can learn to draw your favorite Disney characters from an actual Disney animator! The best part is that these special locations also make great spots when you need a break from that California sun!

Siegfried, I truly hope that you have the happiest time at the Happiest Place on Earth and safe travels from Switzerland. If you need anything else, we are always here for you at planDisney!

    Keep wishing on those stars,
    Tara
