Hey there, Michele, and welcome to planDisney! I’m sorry to hear about the illness in your family and am sending hopes for swift recovery your way. Take all the time you need to heal, and once your party is ready to travel, the Walt Disney World Resort will be waiting with open arms!
One thing that I appreciate about planning a Disney vacation is that they are understanding of the fact that vacation plans sometimes change — often outside of our control. This is reflected in Walt Disney World’s flexible theme park ticket policies.
Ticket Usage Guidelines state that 2-day Theme Park tickets expire 4-days after your scheduled start date. But no worries Michele, you have the option to change your ticket start date to reflect the new dates that you would like to visit. You can change the dates on your Theme Park Tickets in your
My Disney Experience account. After you successfully log in to your account, select the Theme Park Tickets that you would like to modify and choose “Change Ticket”. You will then have the option to edit your ticket dates. Keep in mind that since Walt Disney World uses date-based pricing for theme park tickets, if there is a difference in price between your original tickets and the new dates you’d like to purchase you will be prompted to pay the difference at checkout.
If you run into any trouble changing your ticket dates, you can reach out to an Existing Tickets Cast Member at (407) 934-7639 for further assistance. And since Guests are currently required to have valid theme park tickets and
Disney Park Pass reservations to enter the Theme Parks, be sure to cancel your old park reservations and make new ones after you select your new arrival date. I also recommend reviewing the
Theme Park Availability Calendar before finalizing your dates. We want to make sure there is availability for your desired vacation dates.
And Michele, even the ticket expiration dates are magical at Walt Disney World! Even if you aren’t ready to commit to new dates for your next visit, the amount that you paid for your original tickets never expires and can be applied to a future ticket purchase! So take a deep breath with me — your tickets won’t lose their value and you will be able to use them whenever you’re ready.
I know that this may not be the happiest of circumstances but I hope I was able to help ease your mind, Michele! If you have any other questions, please let us here at the Panel know. We’re here to help!
Until next time,
PG
