Hi Lisa,
Welcome to planDisney! Flight cancellations are certainly not the most magical way to start your vacation. I regret that Tinker Bell's pixie dust does not extend to your part of Neverland, but the good news is the magic of a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation has no expiration date.
According to a helpful Cast Member, you can change the dates of your existing ticket(s) in the
My Disney Experience App with the following thumb choreography:
- Click on the three small, horizontal lines at the bottom right of your phone screen
- Click on "Tickets and Passes"
- Click on a ticket to see details
- Click on "change ticket" and select your new dates
If there is a difference in price for your new dates, Lisa, you'll be prompted for payment when you finish making changes. If you are unsure of your return date, the value of the unused tickets will go towards your future ticket purchase.
You can accomplish the same goal of changing your ticket dates by visiting the "My Plans" page under the "My Disney Experience" tab of the Walt Disney World website or by speaking with a friendly Cast Member at the
Existing Tickets number. Note that a call is required if your return dates are after your current ticket's expiration date.
The last step of this process is updating your
Disney Park Pass reservations with your new dates. According to the
Availability Calendar, EPCOT is the only park with availability on Tuesday, January 4, and Magic Kingdom park is unavailable on Wednesday, January 5, but all
four theme parks are available for the rest of January, as well as the foreseeable future.
My mother always told me it takes rain to see a rainbow and I just know your flight cancellation woes are the rain before your great, big, beautiful tomorrow.
Hang in there,
Jennifer
