Hi there, we are due to take our first Disney Cruise on the wish in May and wondering whether to get off at Nassau given we are only onboard for 3 days. Is it feasible to just get off for a couple of hours? We want to make the most of our time on the wish.

    Ahoy Scott,

Thanks for coming to planDisney with your question about the Disney Wish. My family sailed on this lovely ship last year. You are in for an amazing sailing!

You are absolutely welcome to disembark the ship for however long you want to at ports of call. If you only want to leave the ship for a couple of hours, that is perfectly fine! Of course you want to pay close attention to the all aboard time at which you need to be back on board and ensure that you are back on the ship by that time.

When my family sailed on the Disney Wish, it was a three-night sailing. It was so short, and our focus on that sailing was truly to explore the amazing new ship. Because we had visited Nassau in the past, we chose to remain on the ship the whole day. These days in port can be excellent days to explore the ship with fewer guests because many of them will head into port on those days.

If you do decide to head into port on that day, I suggest that you check out the Port Adventures for Nassau. You can find if any of these meet the amount of time that you are considering. Each Port Adventure lists the duration of the Port Adventure in the information provided. There are so many options, from sightseeing and beaches to various activities at Atlantis. One unique experience that we have done in Nassau is the Graycliff chocolate factory tour. On this Port Adventure, you take a tour of a small chocolate factory - and then you get to make your own chocolate bar! We did this tour with some family friends including a whole bunch of teens and tweens, and everyone had a really fun time.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Scott! Have a magical time planning your cruise, and please feel free to sail on back to planDisney if you have any further questions.
