Hi, we are due to arrive 01/06/2012 for 2 wks but are having serious concerns about the heat. We are travelling with our 2 boys aged 9 & 7 one of whom is not so good in high temps. We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Hotel. Any advice? as we may cance

    Hi Melanie,

It is definitely warm in Florida in June but nothing like the heat that you would experience in July or August. There are a few things you can do to make your trip enjoyable.

-Take breaks when you feel you or the boys need it.  Make sure everyone stays hydrated. Always keep drinking water.
Take advantage of the indoor attractions so you can get a break from the sun.
Plan your meals at sit down indoor restaurants.
What I might do is start the day early and then head back to the resort in the early afternoon, swim, rest, relax and then head back out in the later afternoon when the sun isn't as strong and have a fun filled night.

The key will be to pace yourselves and when you start to feel hot then find a spot where you can go inside and cool down.

I bought my kids the water bottle with the fan attachment. That helps keep them cool and it is easy to refill.

You will have a great time and there are lots of things to do that won't have you out in the sun all day long.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.
