Hi Melissa,
It's great to see you planning Disney at planDisney again!
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are some of my favorite Disney destinations. If I close my eyes, I can hear the sound of steel drums playing at
Disney's Old Key West Resort, smell the fresh pine of
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and hear the 'oohs' and 'aahs' as Guests first enter the iconic lobby of
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
In my experience, the Monorail resorts (Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa) do not allow Guests to park or be dropped off without a confirmed dining reservation. Instead, you should plan to get dropped off at the Ticket and Transportation Center and take the
Resort Monorail to your desired pre-Magic Kingdom Park destination. Your itinerary remains unchanged - put your toes in the sand at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, enjoy some
live piano music at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and/or browse the shops at Disney's Contemporary Resort before heading to Magic Kingdom Park. It has also been my experience that quick-service dining at these resorts may be limited to Guests staying at the resort.
There's no charge to get dropped off at the Ticket and Transportation Center, Melissa. Tell the Cast Member at the attendant booth you are being dropped off and they will point you in the right direction. The drop-off area is toward the front of the parking lot, not far from security.
If you're entertaining the idea of a pre-park meal, I can't say enough good things about
Steakhouse 71 at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Stack Burger is a must-have on each of my vacations and it's just a 10-minute walk from the entrance to Magic Kingdom Park.
Hope to see you and your thoughtful questions at planDisney again soon!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
