Can we drop off our son at Magic Kingdom

    Hi Francine!
    Welcome to planDisney.

Yes, you'll be pleased to know it is possible to take your son to all four Walt Disney World theme parks, and both water parks, and drop him off without having to park and be charged for parking.  It must be stressed that Guests under the age of 14 must be accompanied by Guests 14 or older to enter the Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks.

Just drive to the park entrance (as if you were heading for the parking lots) where you can tell the Cast Member at the gate that you are dropping your son near the entrance. You will be directed to a special drop-off zone close to the park entrance, within easy walking distance. If you are returning to collect your son after his day at the park, you would just follow the same procedure again. This applies to all Guests visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Disney's Animal Kingdom Park.  The only difference is if you are visiting Magic Kingdom Park.  All cars (except for the Disney Minnie Van Service) have to drop off passengers at the Transportation and Ticket Center, where park guests will then take the Ferryboat or the Monorail to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom Park.

For water parks (Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach) the same applies, but you don't need to check in with a Cast Member at the gate, just drive around the parking lot up to the drop-off zone close to the entrance.  Parking is complimentary for all guests at the water parks.

It is worth noting that for all Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel,  Disney Resort Transportation will be available to take you directly from the Resort hotels to the theme parks - boats, buses, monorails, or Disney Skyliner, depending on each Resort hotel's location - and if you are visiting Magic Kingdom Park, Disney transport will take you close to the entrance of the park.  Parking at the theme parks is complimentary for all Disney Resort hotel guests.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can also send me a direct question if you wish.   We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World.
