How would we drop off part of our party at guest drop off/pick up, then go to park? We don’t have or need handicapped placards, but would like to save my Mom any extra steps. Thanks so much!!!

    Hey, Lonny!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love this question because, for Guests who need a little extra help, Micky and gang provide an extra touch of magic.

There are designated areas for Drop-Off/Pick-Up at all four major Walt Disney World Resort theme parks: Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. When you arrive at the toll plaza tell the cast member (fancy name Disney uses for employees) you are making a drop off for your mother. They will instruct you exactly what to do. You do not need to have any proof of disability. Doing this helps her avoid the extra walking or using the parking lot tram.

Please note that some locations are a farther walk than others. For example, Magic Kingdom Park there is no access to deliver Guests right to the main gate. Drop-Off/Pick-Up is at the Transportation and Ticket Center and from there Guests will take the "highway in the sky," the Express Resort Monorail. The view is spectacular as you soar alongside the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Disney Dad Tip: I have found on days where we are park hopping (multiple theme parks in one day) that using Preferred Parking saved us time and was very close to each entrance. Yes, it is more expensive but we received a bottle of water for each person and did not have to wait for "tram-sportation."

Disney Dad Tip 2: Download the My Disney Experience Mobile App for access to turn-by-turn directions between destinations at Walt Disney World Resort.

Lonny, I hope these tips help your mother. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories!
