Hello there, Sandra! I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney with your question as you prepare for an adventure at sea with Disney Cruise Line!
Staterooms are typically ready to enter at around 1:30 p.m. on the day of embarkation. Whether or not you can go to the stateroom immediately will depend on your boarding time. My family typically brings our carry-on luggage with us to lunch shortly after boarding. For that reason, we try to pack lightly with our carry-on luggage. We keep the essentials like our
travel documentation, necessary medication (in original packaging), and swimsuits for the pool!
For the luggage that you don't want to carry on board, you'll receive
luggage tags in the mail prior to your sailing. You'll be able to hand over your main luggage to porters at the port upon arrival. These suitcases will be delivered directly to your stateroom within a few hours after boarding, typically before dinner. If there is anything you need to have with you for those first few hours on the ship, make sure to keep it in your carry-on luggage.
If you plan to bring the
approved amount of alcohol or other drinks (such as water or bottled soda) on board, these items also need to be in your carry-on luggage. I hope this information helps!
Sandra, please cruise our way again with more questions. My pals and I love to help guests feel well-prepared to make memories that will last a lifetime.
Have a wonderful vacation!
Adrianna
