Hello! We are driving to WDW and staying at Art of Animation. Can we park our car at Art of Animation in the morning the day we arrive even though check-in won’t be until later that afternoon? Thanks!

    Hi Alison,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and hello to a fellow Virginian! My family also usually drives to Walt Disney World, and we love watching the trees change as we travel south. Between watching Disney movies in the car, a nap or three, and fun Disney-themed books and activity books, the trip flies by for us.

I just did what you’re describing when my family drove down in March. We arrived at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort before check-in time, and were able to park at the resort, get a bite to eat at the fantastic Landscape of Flavors food court, and then jump into the Big Blue Pool while waiting for our room to be ready. Because we used online check-in, we just had to wait for the text message telling us our room number so we could get settled. You're also welcome to park and then jump on a Disney World Transportation bus to a theme park or Disney Springs while you wait for your room to be ready. I travel with everyone's Magic Bands in my purse so we can put them on as soon as we arrive on property, since they unlock all the fun!

Alison, enjoy your stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! I just love the larger than life icons from the movies, and my kids loved exploring every nook and cranny of this magical, colorful place.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
