We are going to be driving to WDW. Would it be easier to drive to the parks instead of using the Disney transportation? We will be staying at the AKL. Thanks

Hi Christy!  I think it all depends on your personal choice.  When I vacation at Disney, I tend to park my car (when driving) and leave it there until it's time to head home.  I find Disney transportation to be relaxing, efficient and part of the overall vacation experience and we never had a problem with the buses when we've stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

However, there are probably just as many families who prefer to drive themselves to the parks.  If you decide this is a better option for you, you should know that parking is free at the theme parks for resort guests.  You'll receive a parking pass at check-in that you must leave in your dashboard while on Disney property.  Also, if you have a GPS, you may want to head over to mousesavers.com - they have a download of most Disney POIs (points of interest) which will make it easier to find your location.

As a suggestion, why not give Disney transportation a day or two and see if you're hooked.  If you also find it less of a hassle, continue using the transportation.  Otherwise, you always have your car to fall back on.

Have a magical vacation!  Diane  :)
