Ahoy there, Cherene! Welcome aboard, planDisney!
What a fun Disney cruise adventure you have planned! A side-by-side Disney cruise, or a back-to-back cruise, is the best way to beat those Disembarkation Day blues! There’s nothing quite like disembarking one Disney cruise ship only to hop on another! To quote my friend, Hannah Montana (whom my kids and I were just listening to in the car!), this is truly “The Best of Both Worlds”! I would be happy to share the process of parking and transferring ships once you get there.
The
parking garages for both Disney cruise terminals are connected, so it’s easy to get from one to the other. When you book both cruises and complete your
Online Check-In, Disney Cruise Line will be informed that you’re sailing on a side-by-side cruise, where you will be disembarking one cruise and embarking on another.
I contacted Disney Cruise Line to confirm, and they said that while the walk from one terminal to the other is not far, as they are connected, you may not have any reason to walk from one parking garage to the other after disembarking the Disney Fantasy. Disney Cruise Line will handle the transfer of your luggage, and even the transportation of you and your guests from one ship to the other on the morning of your first cruise disembarkation. For this reason, I would suggest parking in Terminal 8 since you will be embarking on the
Disney Fantasy first, and Disney Cruise Line will handle your transportation to Terminal 10 to board the
Disney Wish, and then will take you back where you started at Terminal 8 when you disembark.
I have a few reminders for you as well, which are to remember that you have two Online Check-In’s to complete, as well as two
booking windows for the activities on board both sailings. During your first Online Check-In, there will be an option to select “Boarding Another Disney Cruise Ship” for your post-cruise plans, as there was in my own Online Check-In that I just completed last week for my upcoming Disney cruise.
Once you board the Disney Fantasy, you will also be able to
remind Disney Cruise Line at the
Guest Services Desk of your side-by-side Disney cruise plans, as well as receive further clarification about the transportation location for the morning of your disembarkation.
Cherene, I hope that I was able to offer guidance for what’s sure to be a very exciting move from one Disney cruise ship to the next! I wish you so many magical moments during this incredible adventure! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
