Hi Cari ~
It is always smart to plan ahead especially when you are traveling with a special needs person in your party. Once you go through the parking plaza at the Magic Kingdom parking lot, follow the blue line painted on the pavement to the handicapped parking area. A Cast Member will also direct you once you are in the parking lot. The handicapped parking spaces are located at the front of the parking lot. Depending on where you are parked in the row and how fast you are walking, it may be around a 10 minute walk from your parking space to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).
Trams do not service the Handicapped Parking areas. If you are renting an ECV inside the Magic Kingdom and think your family member may have difficulty walking to the TTC, there are blue courtesy wheelchairs in the handicapped parking areas to assist Guests getting to and from the entrance of the theme parks but they are not permitted inside the parks.
From the TTC, you will need to take the monorail or ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom. If you will already have your scooter, you will be happy to know that monorails and ferry boats are handicapped accessible and can accommodate Guests traveling in wheelchairs, ECVs, and scooters.
Here is some information for Guests
using ECVs in the queues and boarding attractions that may be helpful once you are inside the theme parks.
Please feel free to visit again with all of your planning questions. It is indeed a pleasure to assist you!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
