Hi Jennifer!
Downtown Disney is a great place to visit for a day of fun. It is currently in transition to becoming Disney Springs, so you will encounter some construction while you are there. Pleasure Island used to be the area with night clubs, but they no longer exist and are being converted into some pretty cool restaurants.
One of my favorite attractions there is
Characters in Flight, a balloon ride that will take you up 400 feet in the air for a 360 degree view of Walt Disney World. There is currently a Groupon offered as well for a discount on ticket. Search for "Aerophile" on the Groupon website to find it.
There are so many fantastic restaurants to choose from, but I highly recommend checking out the new
Food Truck - Fantasy Fare located at Downtown Disney West Side. You can choose from delicious specialties from all around the world.
Also located on the West Side are many boutique style shops as well as a Disney's Candy Cauldron, a great place to pick up some sweet treats. The caramel apples are the best!
DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park is great for teenagers. It has 5 floors of video games and virtual play. Admission is required. You can drop your teenagers off there for a day of fun while you stroll the streets.
The East Side will have most of your Disney character shopping stores as well as more restaurants. Earl of Sandwich is great for a fast bite to eat. Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex Cafe are great for a fun dining experience.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
