Driving to Florida from PA for 1st trip, arrive Jan 27! Staying at AOA. Once in Florida, what is best way to come in to AOA to avoid traffic as much as possible? Don't mind paying tolls.

Hi Vicki - one thing that is hard to predict is traffic!  We have driven from CT a few times and find it best when we basically go right down 95 and then merge onto I-4 in Daytona.  However, when on I-4, timing is everything - you definitely don't want to be on it during peak times.  If you want to avoid I-4 as you approach Orlando, look for 417 South as a bypass.

Depending on where you are starting from in PA, instead of getting right on 95, it might be easier for you to go 81-77 and then 95.  We've gone this route in the past and it isn't bad at all.  By the time you are on 95, you are in South Carolina.  You will hit heavier traffic when you approach the bigger cities so be prepared.  Some of the bigger cities - like Jacksonville, will have a bypass available.  It might be to your advantage to utilize the bypass during peak times.  The route might be longer mileage-wise but should save you time in the long run.

Be sure to pack snacks for the trip and be safe!  Diane
