Driving down to WDW from Detroit and am looking for a nice town to stay overnight before finishing the drive. Would like to have a 6 hour or less drive the next day. Anyone have any ideas on where to stay. There will be 4 adults and 2 kids.

    Hi Brandi!

A road trip to Walt Disney World can be SO much fun! The anticipation really builds with each passing mile when you sprinkle in some pixie dust by playing Disney music, trivia games and movies during the drive!

My family and I usually make a "stop over" in Amelia Island, Florida on our way to Orlando. The uncrowded beaches are beautiful and serene and the town has plenty of parks with climbing equipment to stretch tired little legs. Amelia is also about a 6 hour drive to the House of Mouse so, you'll be close to the magic when you're ready for your tires to hit the pavement the next day. The website www.ameliaisland.com has a lot of great resources for your beach vacation planning.

Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions my way in the days leading up to your visit to see Mickey Mouse and Pals!
