We will be driving to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to attend Mickey's Backyard BBQ. How long is the transportation once I arrive at the parking lot to the BBQ? Is there any bus we need to grab?

    Hi Tamara!

The Fort Wilderness Resort is my home away from home when we travel to Walt Disney World. It is such a beautiful and peaceful location to center all of your activities around.

Transportation within this very large resort is quite easy with a great internal bus system in place. There are several routes you can choose from but the quickest way to Pioneer Hall will be the orange route. The trip will take about 15-20 minutes or just a bit longer if it is during a crowded time for loading and unloading at the various stops. Disney recommends giving yourself 30 minutes.

The Mickey’s Backyard Barbecue dining event takes place just behind Pioneer Hall. It is best to arrive no later then about 20 minutes before the start and you might even wish to consider booking the Early Access which will offer better seating and special perks. It is a great family activity full of good food and super entertainment.
