We are driving to Disney in June& staying at the Caribbean Beach I've read that it can take up to an hr to get to the Parks on the bus because of all the stops at the resort the bus has to make would be better to drive ourselves to the parks?

    Hi Cindy!

A lot of guests arrive at Walt Disney World and want to leave the driving to Disney.  I can completely understand that as a lot of guests aren't comfortable driving in a strange place and Walt Disney World is large.

However, it is fairly easy to drive around Walt Disney World and Disney does a great job with the signs.  With the exception of getting to the Magic Kingdom, the fastest and easiest way to get around is by driving a car.  I'm a big fan of having a rental car if its within the budget.  It's especially nice if you want to dine at other resorts, especially if they're not within walking distance (such as the Epcot resorts on Crescent Lake) or on the monorail.  To get from one resort to another using a Disney bus, you would first have to go to a transfer point like a theme park or Downtown Disney; as you can imagine, that can take some time.

The Magic Kingdom is the only possible exception, because when you drive your own car to the Magic Kingdom, you have to park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot.  Then you have to walk or take a tram to the Transportation and Ticket Center, followed by a monorail or ferry boat ride to the actual entrance of the Magic Kingdom.  Disney transportation, on the other hand, drops you off right outside the Magic Kingdom turnstiles.

For every other destination from the Caribbean Beach, you would get there much faster with a car.  Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
