We are going to drive and park at Animal Kingdom for 1/2 day then go to Hollywood studios. Should we use Disney transportation to HS and back to AK to our car to drive home? Or do we just take our car to AK and park there and leave from there at the end

    Hi Susann,

Welcome to planDisney! We're happy to be here as a resource for all your Walt Disney World planning questions, including logistics for an easy transition from one theme park to another.

I'm a huge fan of using the complimentary Walt Disney World transportation and driving as little as possible during my visits. It's much more relaxing for me to sit back and let myself be whisked along by bus, monorail, boat or Skyliner between destinations.

However, in the situation you described, I'm not sure using the Disney transportation is your most efficient and relaxing option.

Transportation to and from the theme parks generally runs for 60 to 90 minutes after the park closes. Because Animal Kingdom closes at 6 p.m. the week of your visit (three hours earlier than Hollywood Studios), you may have some challenges returning to your car if you stay at Hollywood Studios past 7 pm or so.

So, I would drive from Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios when you're ready to park hop. It's a quick drive, only about 10 minutes. Then you will know your vehicle is nearby and easy to access whenever you're ready to leave.

If you are staying in a Walt Disney World resort, standard parking is complimentary at all the theme parks, even on the day you check out. Or, if you pay the standard parking fee, keep your receipt and show it when you enter Hollywood Studios. You only need to pay once per day.

And make sure you log your parking spot at each park in the "Car Locator" function of the My Disney Experience Mobile App or take a picture of your row number.

I hope that's helpful, Susann. Please let us know if you have any other questions as your vacation nears.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
