Hi Cindy!
Thanks for racing over to see us at planDisney, where we're always happy to chat about all things runDisney! I'm sure you will love the Springtime Surprise Weekend. I participated in this race weekend back in 2022 and had a wonderful time. I have to admit, I'm a little jealous of the themes this year, especially the
Hakuna Matata 10-Miler!
Over the next few weeks, you should receive more information from runDisney regarding details about your race. You'll want to keep an eye out for your Digital Expo & Event Guide, which will also be available on the
Runner Info tab of the runDisney Springtime Surprise website. This guide will include the 2024 course maps, parking information, and much more. In my experience with runDisney races over the years, and based on last year's Springtime Surprise 10-Miler, I would anticipate that the event will begin and end at EPCOT. Assuming that this remains the same for 2024, you'll find plenty of parking available. Last year the parking lot opened at 3:00 AM and I would recommend planning to arrive early as traffic is very heavy on race mornings.
There are other options as well if you'd like to leave the driving to someone else during your race weekend. Runners staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel can take advantage of complimentary transportation to the
runDisney Health and Fitness Expo, the starting line, and back to your resort after the race. Don't forget to plan to visit the expo at least one day ahead of your race to pick up your bib! I've also used rideshare services like Uber and Lyft in the past on race mornings and to the expo.
Cindy, before I dash off, I wanted to share that while I was visiting the runDisney website, I noticed that tickets are still available for the
runDisney Springtime Surprise Splash! This is a nighttime party at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park featuring music, select snacks, and character greetings. If you haven't bought tickets already, I'd recommend checking it out and making a decision fast as this is a limited-capacity event and may sell out.
I hope you enjoy your magical miles around the Walt Disney World Resort! Please stop by and see us again at planDisney with any other vacation planning questions!
See ya real soon,
Kristi
