Hello and welcome to planDisney, Richard. Thanks for stopping by with your question.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is such a fun place to stay. My family and I rent a cabin there over Christmas every year and we always have the best time. Renting a golf cart is such a great idea while staying there because the resort itself is pretty big and spread out. A golf cart makes getting around so much more fun.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and
Disney's Wilderness Lodge are actually two different resorts. It's easily confused because their names are so similar. While they are both located near each other, it is not possible to take your golf cart from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. That would require you to exit the campground and drive on the main roads where golf carts are not allowed.
To get from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge you'll need to hop on a boat over to Magic Kingdom Park. From there, you'll switch boat lines and head toward Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Sometimes there is a boat that will run directly between the two resorts, however, I don't think that has returned to us since the shut down last year. It certainly doesn't hurt to check on that once you are there, but I am pretty certain it is still currently suspended. My preferred method for getting from resort to resort at Walt Disney World is to use a ride-share service. They can pick you up at the front of the campground and then drop you off right outside the lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It's so much quicker and honestly only costs a few dollars one way - totally worth it in my opinion!
I hope this helps, Richard. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me.
Have a great day!
