Aloha, Laurie, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
There is so much to love about
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, which is probably why I find myself spending time there almost every time I'm on vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. I think that the decor and the atmosphere are incredible, and I'm always counting down the days until I can smell the divine smell of the main building, the Great Ceremonial House, again. Of course, it's no surprise that my favorite thing about a visit here is the food! Every restaurant is great here, from the family-style dinner at
'Ohana, to the Thai Coconut Meatballs at one of my favorite Quick-Service Restaurants,
Capt. Cook's.
If you are looking for a really fun night out and a unique lounge experience that you won't forget, I also recommend a visit to
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto! While this location doesn't participate in the
Disney Dining Plan, I still like to visit for a cocktail in a collectible cup and some delicious food. My family loves the Hawaiian Poke, the Banh Mi, and the Chicken Lettuce Cups! When the bill comes, you can just use your
MagicBand to charge the total to your Resort Hotel room.
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto is extremely popular among guests and does not take reservations, so make sure to head there as close to opening time as possible to get a seat inside. If you don't want to wait for a table or you'd prefer to enjoy some drinks and snacks outside, I always have good luck finding a seat on the Tiki Terrace.
Have a HippopotoMai-Tai for me, Laurie!
