Ahoy Cherie-Anne!
We are so happy you POPPED by planDisney with your question. This must mean you have a Disney cruise on the horizon...how exciting! Perhaps you are considering one of the
Disney Magic at Sea voyages for this summer since they are exclusively for UK residents.
First of all, it depends on what you mean by a drinks package. Disney Cruise Line does offer both Beer Packages and Wine Packages. To sign up for a beverage package, you can either pre-purchase one through
Onboard Gifts or you can purchase it once onboard. I like to wait until I'm onboard so I can see what I’m in the mood for in that moment.
Unfortunately, there’s not a beverage package for alcoholic drinks like cocktails and spirits. These beverages are a la carte and can be added to your stateroom account using your Key to the World card. Pricing for cocktails or wine at bars, nightclubs and lounges typically range between $7 and $15. Again, prices are subject to change and may vary, so check with your bartender before you order.
That said, here are some suggestions to stretch those Disney dollars for your drinks:
-Register for a
Beverage Tasting. These seminars are informative and interactive with the bartender/instructor teaching Guests about the making of and origins of some popular spirits and liquor. Plus, you get to make new friends with fellow cruisers and have a lot of fun in the process! My favorite seminars have been Mixology and the Tequila and Margarita Tasting. The prices are always subject to change, but currently range from approximately $20-35.
-Order the Drink of the Day! There’s a new one featured each day and it is served at a discount. The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will give you information on each day's drink and where you can find them onboard!
-
Carry beer and wine onboard with you. Each adult 21 years of age or older can carry on two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (750 ml or smaller) OR six beers (12 ounces or less) on embarkation day and at each port. Just make sure when carrying alcohol onboard, you follow the steps outlined. When you arrive at the port, keep any wine or beer with you in your carry-on luggage and NOT in your checked luggage.
So happy you sailed by to visit us, Cherie-Anne. Feel free to UNCORK more cruise planning questions and send them our way!
Cheers!
