Ahoy, Taryn! I'm thrilled to welcome you to planDisney. The
Disney Dream will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the first ship I ever sailed, and it was love at first sight.
Disney Cruise Line does not have drink packages like you might expect from other cruise lines. I always appreciated not having to buy a soda package, as carbonated beverages, lemonade, tea, and coffee are readily available on the ship and included in the cruise fare.
If you are looking for a beverage with a few more spirits, there are several options. First, did you know
you can bring beer and wine on board with you? Guests 21 years or older may bring two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or six beers (no larger than 12 ounces) in their carry-on luggage at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call. You are welcome to enjoy these in your stateroom. They pair perfectly with cheese and crackers, which can be delivered to your room as part of the included 24-hour
Room Service. You can also bring your bottles of wine or champagne to the main dining room to be served with your dinner for a small corkage fee.
Wine packages are also available in the main dining rooms. These typically include a set number of bottles that are served with your dinner. You can purchase these through
Onboard Gifts before you board the ship or at dinner once your cruise sets sail.
I look forward to the Drink of the Day, a specially priced drink offered on board. You can see the daily offering on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. It has become a bit of a Sail Away tradition - seeing the port get smaller with a drink in hand and not a care in the world.
If you enjoy a frothy ale or brew, the Refillable Beer Mug may interest you. With this, you get a 21 oz mug, which is refilled on the cruise for the cost of a 16 oz beer at any bar or restaurant on the ship that serves draft beer. You can get a beer mug token to carry with you when ordering to get the special mug size. Then, at the end of the cruise, you get a mug as a souvenir! Similar to the wine package, you can order ahead through Onboard Gifts or purchase it on board.
One of my favorite activities is
Beverage Tastings. I have done one focused on tequila and another on a variety of cocktails. They make for fun afternoons where you can say you went to class on your cruise and learned something! I even took notes on my phone with a few concoctions to try to make again at home.
Taryn, I hope this information helps with all the options available to you. If you have any other questions, please cruise back by
planDisney. We're all aboard to help!
Cheers!
Jana
