Hi, Pam! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
It is so exciting to think that you will be enjoying the Disneyland Resort so soon! The one thing I’ve learned from visiting the parks during different times of the year is to always be prepared for varying temperatures. My family often starts the day very early and I find that I need a light coat or a sweatshirt while we are waiting in line for 7:00 a.m. rope drop. Additionally, I get cold easily, so if I know we will be in the parks at night for fireworks or the
Paint the Night Parade, I make sure my jacket is in our backpack. June can be an interesting time in southern California as it’s not generally as hot as the other summer months and it can be overcast at times. However, I would definitely plan to spend your days in shorts and t-shirts to keep cool, but bring along that light jacket for the mornings and evenings.
Another important consideration is footwear! Comfortable and well worn-in tennis shoes are a must for being on your feet all day. I also usually pack a few bandages in the backpack just in case my favorite shoes unexpectedly start to rub my feet or toes. If you plan on riding any attractions where you can get wet, like Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Run, you might want to pack a pair of flip-flops in your backpack to change into before riding so your shoes and socks don’t get wet. If you don’t want to carry around your jacket or any extra items,
rent a locker for the day to conveniently store your belongings.
I hope this helps. See ya real soon!
