Is there a dress code for the parks

    Hi Nancy!

When it comes to a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I am a notorious overpacker. I want to be prepared for any and all weather, and any need that may arise. In the past, this has led to me bringing home half a suitcase of unworn clothing, which just came along for the ride but was never used! I've now learned to be a better traveler, by only bringing what's necessary to enjoy my Disney vacation.

The first rule when it come to dressing for the theme parks is to bring comfortable footwear. You'll be doing a lot of walking, so make sure to wear shoes that won't rub blisters on your feet - that's no fun at all! It's not the best time to try out a cute, new pair of strappy sandals - it's better to bring a pair of shoes that have been broken in and that can go the distance!

Dress comfortably, and make sure to pay close attention to the local weather report. Pop-up showers call for ponchos or rain gear, so make sure to pack these items in your bag if there's rain in the forecast. While there's not a "specific" dress code for guests, remember that the Disney theme parks are a family-friendly environment,  so please use discretion when selecting your attire for the parks. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.

From the Walt Disney World website, regarding inappropriate attire:

"Attire that is not appropriate for the parks—and which may result in refusal of admittance—includes but is not limited to:

    - Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics
    - Excessively torn clothing
    - Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment
    - Clothing with multiple layers are subject to search upon entry
    - Objectionable tattoos"

I hope this helps with your planning (and packing) for an upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
