Hi Sandra!
As a notorious over-packer, I try to pay close attention to what I need to pack when going on vacation. On a Disney Cruise Line vacation, it helps to know the dress code for your specific itinerary so you'll know exactly
what you'll need in your suitcase.
The dress code for dinner onboard the ship varies each night. On a four-night voyage, you should probably expect two cruise casual evenings. Cruise casual means no swimwear or tank tops, and I recommend no casual shorts. Dress shorts, capris, and casual dresses for women and dress shorts and golf shirts for men are the norm on these evenings, though some cruisers prefer to dress up a bit more.
For
Pirate Night, you'll want to make sure to pack your favorite pirate gear! No need to worry if you don't have a treasure chest full of pirate costumes - they'll have plenty of eye patches and the like in the onboard gift shops. Some guests will go "full Captain Jack Sparrow", and some just prefer to dress in all black - it's up to you how "pirate-y" you want to be!
You'll also have one optional dress-up night - this typically means jackets for men, and dresses or pantsuits for women. If you have reservations at Palo or Remy, the Adult Exclusive restaurants, there are stricter dress codes when dining there. You won't have a formal night during your sailing, and the dress-up night is optional. I will, however, encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to dress up one evening. It's a wonderful opportunity to get formal photos taken by the ship's
photographers.
I hope this helps with your planning, packing and best of all - shopping! Have a magical day! - Diane W.
