What is the dress code for dinner in the dining rooms on the Disney cruise line?

    Ahoy, Karen!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

I have a confession - I am an overpacker. On our first Disney Cruise, which was a three night voyage, I packed enough for us to stay for two weeks. Now, as a seasoned veteran, I make sure to only bring what we need! It's very helpful to know Disney Cruise Line's dress code so that you'll know exactly what to expect.

Generally, most of the onboard dining locations on the ship are ok with "cruise casual" attire, which means no swimwear or tank tops, and I recommend no casual shorts. Dress shorts, capris, and casual dresses for women and dress shorts and golf shorts for men are what you can typically expect guests to wear when dining in the Main Dining venues each evening. Your sailing will also have at least one optional dress up night, and more than one for cruises five nights or longer. On dress-up nights, men will usually wear jackets (with or without a tie), and women will wear dresses or pantsuits.

Last but not least, let's not forget Pirate Night! For this evening of swashbuckling fun, you'll want to pack your favorite pirate gear. No worries if you're a landlubber and don't have a closet full of puffy shirts and eye patches, the onboard gift shops have got it covered. You'll see guests really go all out for the pirate festivities - you can get as pirate-y as you want to with it!

If you plan on visiting one of the Adult-Exclusive restaurants on your Disney Cruise Line vacation, there are a different set of dress codes for those locations to go along with the elegant atmosphere. Men are asked to wear dress pants/slacks with a collared shirt (button-front shirts are required for Remy), and dress shoes. Ladies can choose from a cocktail dress, evening dress, pantsuit or a skirt/dressy pants with a blouse.

I hope this helps with your planning, shopping and packing for your Disney Cruise. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
