Hi Tracey!
Ahoy and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited to hEAR you have your first
Disney Cruise Line vacation planned! I hope you are ready for all the fun and adventure that awaits you on the high seas; in fact, you may need a vacation from this cruise when it’s over!
Formal Night onboard is always a fun night to see all the Guests (and Mickey and Friends) dressed in their finest duds! But, one of the best things about sailing with Captain Mickey is that formal wear can be as formal as you want – or not as formal as you want! There is not any
particular dress code that one must adhere to for dinner, which is so nice! You will see Guests in a varying level of attire – truly anything from cruise casual to black tie – on your scheduled Formal Night. In fact, my family typically falls right in the middle – more of a Sunday best attire. We always struggle to find room in our luggage for the formal wear, so opting for a nice sundress for me and button downs for my boys is perfect! Your son’s planned attire will be perfectly acceptable, and you will not feel as though he is underdressed in shorts!
We do always plan to get a family photo taken prior to dinner (always PRIOR because my boys will undoubtedly make a mess of their nice shirts during dinner) with the onboard photographers. The photographers are so great and can get better smiles out of my boys than I am able to! If you haven’t looked at the
onboard photo packages yet, do so before setting sail! Discounts are available if you book prior to your voyage and since you will want to bring all those memories home with you, it’s worth looking into now!
Wishing you a magical adventure with many memories made!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
