When I was on the Dream I noticed no Pirates of the Carribean ship on Castaway Cay. What happened to the ship?

    Hi, Russell!

Arrrggh! Some scallywag stole ye Flying Dutchman from Castaway Cay? Pirates, I tell ye!

From what I understand, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) had the Flying Dutchman brought to the island around mid-2006 from the movie set, and it was understood that it was a prop -- not able to withstand the open sea without much maintenance. Therefore, for years, DCL guests took advantage of the photo op with the ship, and the decision was made in 2010 to dismantle it because of deterioration.

So...no need to draw your sword, Russell -- but it does get me thinking of where its treasure might be hidden. Hmmmm....I might need a return trip to Castaway Cay!

I hope your day is wonderful and your vacation was magical!
