I have a dream key to Disneyland and wanted to know how I can sign up for email alerts for events going on. Thanks!

Hiya, Jordyn! Thanks for popping in to planDisney with your question. From one Magic Key Holder to another, welcome! I just got back from a visit to Disneyland Resort yesterday and both my heart and tummy are full from the Lunar New Year celebration

Jordyn, there are a few things we can look at to make sure you’re getting the latest information and news.
    1. Let’s look at your communication preferences in your Disneyland account. Once you are logged in, click on “My Disneyland” and click on the “Profile” link under your name. Click on “Communication Preferences” and scroll down until you see the link titled “Manage your email subscriptions.” Here you can make sure you’re receiving the emails you’re most interested in.
    2. As a Magic Key Holder, you should be receiving the Magic Key Newsletter. I received the January Edition in mid-January. In case you didn’t receive it, you may want to check that the emails are not going to spam. The sender of the email was disneydestinations@mail.disneydestinations.com. I have added this email to my contacts so I don’t miss any updates!
    3. When you go into the Disneyland mobile app, from the home page scroll down until you see “Calling All Magic Key Holders” and from there, click the button titled “Enter the Portal.” Here you will find exclusive information for Magic Key Holders, including special perks in place right now for Magic Key Holder Celebration Month in February!
    4. I am an avid reader of the Disney Parks Blog for important announcements. Reading the blog 2-3 times per week helps me keep up with the latest events. From reading the blog, I was in-the-know for my visit yesterday - I was able to catch a jazzy Celebrate Soulfully performance in the Downtown Disney District and try some Valentine’s Day treats from the latest foodie guide!

Hopefully these few things will help get more information to you about the magic awaiting you. You’re in for some fun with Magic Key Holder Celebration Month! Look for the two Magic Shot photo opportunities. There’s a Peter Pan Shadow photo area at Disneyland Park and a Steamboat Willie shot at Disney California Adventure Park. I did the latter one yesterday. As soon as you enter the theme park, look towards the right near the restrooms and you’ll see a pink sign for Magic Key Holder Celebration Month. The Disney PhotoPass Photographer will ask to check your Magic Key and then take your photo. You’ll see the complimentary digital download later that day in the Photos in your Disneyland mobile app! There are also giveaways sprinkled throughout Disneyland Resort – just look for that same pink sign for Magic Key Holders.

The Lunar New Year celebration (through February 13) also has treats for Magic Key Holders. Near the entrance of the Silly Symphony Swings, you’ll see a Magic Key Holder sign, where you can pick up a complimentary Lunar New Year Magic Key button, and take advantage of an exclusive Lunar New Year backdrop for a festive photo!

Have a magical visit, Jordyn! Come back and see if you have any more questions, we’re all EARS!
