What a great vacation you've got planned in June, Carol! Your excitement is contagious and I'm sure your 2 grand daughters can't wait to be sailing with Captain Mickey. How lucky!
It sounds like you'll be visiting the port of Nassau while cruising in the Bahamas. My family has been there a few times as well, and on our most recent visits, we've also chosen to enjoy the amenities onboard. There will be a good number of guests enjoying port adventures, so you can look forward to less people left on the ship for the day. If you are sailing on the Disney Dream, the
AquaDuck and the pool deck will be a great place to park yourselves at for the day. When we were onboard a few months ago, we found ourselves with just a handful of guests in line to ride the water slides. It was a very quick wait... and that meant multiple times swooshing above and across the deck -- enjoying the awesome views! We also took turns in taking photos and videos of ourselves. I love watching my kids videos - since I captured their big smiles and laughter while going down the AquaDuck.
The Youth Clubs will remain open and lots of fun activities will be waiting for the kids there too. Since they'll be busy at the clubs, you might want to check out the Spa. My husband and I purchased a day pass, and we had the lounge all to ourselves! We hung out at the jacuzzi and enjoyed the view. There might also be some Spa specials going on, so make sure to stop by. It's also a great time to catch up on some Disney movies. You can also enjoy some quiet time at the Cove Cafe or spend some time at any of the adult-exclusive areas.
Make sure to check out the Personal Navigator for any activities and events going on for the day. Character meet and greets are scheduled too, just in case the kids have a favorite character to check out.
Have a fantastic day onboard, Carol!
