Going on the Dream in April. We're so excited! What can we expect from parking? I know about the daily fee, but how do we handle luggage? Is it a far walk? Any other advice would be helpful. You guys know it all! :)

    Hi, Jennifer!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the new Disney Dream! I'm so excited for you that I want to sit down and tell you all the details. Yet, that's part of her beauty -- it's great to discover all the enchanting details throughout your cruise.

Our family has driven our personal car to the port terminal at Port Canaveral. You'll need to have all your travel documents ready for a security checkpoint before your car is allowed on the premises. The Disney Cast Member will point you in the right direction, but it's very similar to checking in at the airport. They will direct you to curbside check in where porters will take your checked luggage. (Remember to bring some cash in small bills for tipping them.) Then, the driver can leave the other passengers there, and go park the car. Parking is $15 per day to park in the terminal parking garage.

You'll proceed through security with your carry-on baggage/day bags, and then upstairs to check in. There's a little coffee shop in the terminal as well as plush seating, cartoons for the kids, up-close viewing of the ship and visits from characters as boarding time approaches.

Remember...one of the best things about driving is deciding when you want to arrive at the port, and the sooner you get there, the sooner you usually get to board. Of course, the sooner you're on board, the sooner your vacation begins! I hope that gives you some tips and ideas!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
