Greetings, Andrea and welcome to planDisney!
Join the magical, immersive world of Disney Characters in their story adventures as you journey through landscapes from our beloved Disney and Pixar animated movies, with over-the-top, life-size displays leaving no detail behind at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
Sketch pencils are still being sharpened, drawing boards and easels polished as we all wait for the return of the popular “Teach to Draw” class, but that doesn’t stop you from picking up a step-by-step instruction book and drawing pencils from the
Ink & Paint Shop and sketch to your heart’s content from the many backdrops and scenes throughout this most artistically-themed Disney Resort hotel.
Once you make your
Disney Park Pass reservation for
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, don’t miss out on the opportunity to draw your own sketch of a Disney Character with
The Animation Experience at Conservation Station in Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The best part is that you could return periodically during your visit and participate to create a different kind of sketch to add to your portfolio!
Over at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, draw inspiration from our legend, Walt Disney as you tour through a multimedia path featuring artistic displays from
100 yEARS of Disney, and don’t miss the screening of “Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream” featuring historical footage and audio recordings at the end of this walk-through.
Andrea, enjoy sketch tutorials from the comfort of your home with the
Learn to Draw Mickey Mouse Disney Parks Blog series led by Disney Cast Member Stephen Ketchum, an experienced Mickey Mouse sketch-artist who will offer advice and tips for artists of all levels.
Pro Tip - In the lobby of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, just outside of the Ink & Paint shop, take a closer look at the Storyboard Chandelier which features many storyboard sketches signed by artists, from many Disney films. My favorite is the signed sketch of Lightning McQueen by John Lasseter.
Happy Disney sketching ~ Jacqueline
