Hi Whitney! Finding the perfect, not-so-busy time to visit Disney is possible!
Here are a few options for travel days to consider.
In all transparency, there really isn’t a true “slow season", but there are definitely quieter times where crowds are lighter, and the parks feel more relaxed. In my experience, some of the best downtimes are mid-January through early February, once the holiday crowds leave and before Presidents’ Day weekend and
runDisney events kick in. The weather is practically perfect, lines are a little shorter, and it feels calmer overall.
Another great window is late August through September, especially after schools are back in session. It’s hot, yes, but crowds drop noticeably, and you’ll often find better availability for
resorts and
dining. Early November, before Thanksgiving week, is also a sweet spot. This is actually my favorite time of the year to visit. You get cooler weather, lighter crowds, and even the beginning of holiday decorations without the peak holiday rush. Seeing the holiday decor makes this time of year extra magical.
Midweek visits can also be better than weekends, no matter the month. Tuesdays through Thursdays tend to be the least crowded park days. I also recommend avoiding major holidays, school breaks, and long weekends if flexibility allows.
The biggest thing I tell families is that Disney is always magical, but choosing the right timing can mean more rides, less waiting, and a more enjoyable pace.
