Hi Michael,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Hurray! You are only a few sleeps away from your Walt Disney World Vacation! How wonderfully exciting.
On September 15,
Fantasmic! is currently scheduled for 8:30 p.m., and
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular for 9:00 p.m. Fantasmic! has a run time of about 25 minutes, so it’s really not going to be possible to make it to Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular in time to see all of both shows in one night. It takes a little while for Guests to exit the Fantasmic! theater because of its capacity, and then the walk to Grauman’s Chinese Theater for the fireworks is about 5-10 minutes depending on your pace and the crowd level.
Michael, last time I saw Fantasmic!, people were trying to leave the theater a few minutes early to race to the other show. I strongly advise against doing that. The Fantasmic! theater is dark, with steep steps, which causes a safety risk, and honestly, the finale of Mickey’s nightmare is too good to miss.
I love both shows so much that I usually plan two nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios so I can see both. It’s a gorgeous park at night, and the lighting in Toy Story Land after dark is fantastic. I realize that you may not have enough time in your stay to do that, and if that’s the case, my advice is to see the end of Fantasmic!, exit down Sunset Boulevard toward the park exit, and then catch what’s left of Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular from Hollywood Boulevard. You should be able to catch at least the show’s stunning finale.
Safe travels, Michael, and enjoy the magic!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
