    We will be down in June for my sons first birthday! We have reservations at Chef Mickey, but would like to know what other special things we can do to celebrate. We might get his first haircut in magic kingdom, what do they do to make it special?

    Happy Birthday to your little Mouseketeer!   There is no better way to spend a first birthday than at Walt Disney World!

    One thing I always like to do when we celebrate birthdays in WDW is to buy a big birthday card that I use instead of an autograph book.  It is a great keepsake to have a birthday card signed by all the Disney Gang.  I also bring decorations for our resort room door and also for inside our room. 

    Let cast members at your resort and also at restaurants know that you are celebrating someone's big day!  They might just surprise you with a special dessert or card from some "special friends!"   Make sure to pick-up your free Happy Birthday button at the entrance to the parks.  While you won't want to put a "pin" on your little guy, attach it to your bag or stroller and keep it as a special reminder of the birthday fun.

    Finally, take plenty of pictures.  You will cherish those pictures of your handsome little prince with Mickey, Minnie, and all the pals.   Your son might not remember how special his first birthday celebration was, but you will certainly be creating memories of a lifetime for you and your family!  Enjoy!

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home.
