When do you take down the Christmas decorations

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Donna!

The holiday season is my favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort. I love the sights, the smells, and most of all, the sounds of Christmas music in the air! The extra pixie dust that gets sprinkled at this time of year is really special and thankfully, Disney knows that guests want to see the decorations so they put them up before Thanksgiving and keep them around until after the holiday season so as many people as possible get the chance to share in the festivities!

In my experience, the Christmas decorations tend to come down gradually beginning the first week in the new year and the Theme Parks are usually fully back to their beautiful everyday state by the second week of January. This varies a little bit every year as new things get added, so it's not down to an exact science. For instance, Disney's Animal Kingdom got some brand new holiday decorations this year, so no one knows quite yet when they will come down! There are Christmas festivities happening around Walt Disney World Resort until January 5, which is when Sunset Seasons Greetings at Disney's Hollywood Studios has its last showing, so I would expect the decorations to come down around that time or shortly after.

I hope this answers your question, Donna, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
