As it happens, some of my friends on the panel have reported back to me that they were able to purchase
Genie+ at 12:01 am, early on the actual park date. So, while it has been broadly stated that sales start at 7:00 am, it seems like an earlier purchase is possible. I have not done it myself, but the panelists I chatted with are reliable sources for what can be done in this case.
Disney does not sell an unlimited number of Genie+ purchases for each park every day. They know how many they can offer before the supply of Genie+ activities become overwhelmed. Because of that, I can understand why someone who really feels that having Genie+ on a given day is important would choose to stay up to order it. I have never had a day where I was not able, at 7 in the morning, to purchase Genie+. But it theoretically could happen, so if it is important to you, please feel free to go ahead and do so.
BONUS TIPWhen you are accessing your
My Disney Experience App to make this purchase, it should automatically refresh to reflect the availability for purchase. However, I have found with some other items it helps to manually refresh the screen at the specific time, and to be sure to have a strong WiFi signal.
