Hi there Terri,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled you're looking to visit
Walt Disney World Resort in the New Year, I always enjoy exploring the various accommodation options available. While I enjoy camping, the rest of my family isn't quite on the same page so we compromise and stay at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground sits on 750 acres of forest (pine and cypress) and it's common to see wildlife daily. On our last visit, we passed a small family of deer who were grazing at the side of the road.
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort come in a few different categories:
- Tent or Pop-up Campsite (one pop-up camper, camper van, and up to 2 tents)
- Full Hook-Up Campsite (room for an RV in addition to a tent; also has sewage hook-up)
- Preferred Campsite (room for an RV and tent; sewage hook-up and is located near the Marina)
- Premium Campsite (room for a larger RV; sewage hook-up)
- Premium Meadow Campsite (room for a larger RV; sewage hook-up and close to Meadow Trading Post, Bike Barn, Meadow Recreation Area and Campfire Area)
Unfortunately, there are no dedicated double sites but your travel party requires more space than the options listed above, you can book two campsites and inquire about the possibility of securing adjacent sites. To do this when booking, at the checkout page (beneath the list of Guests) you'll see "Room and Amenity requests". Click on the link and you'll see the option to select connecting accommodations.
Since you'll be staying at the Campground, I highly recommend booking an advance dining reservation at Pioneer Hall for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. My planDisney pals and I had the best time enjoying the show and sharing laughs!
I hope this information is helpful, Terri. I hope you find the right accommodations for your travel party soon. If you have any other vacation planning questions, please come back and see us at planDisney!
Enjoy making magical memories,
Candace
