Hiya, Thomas!
Welcome to planDisney. There are so many cool ways to use the
My Disney Experience mobile app when you visit Walt Disney World Resort. You can place
Mobile Food Orders or join the Walk-Up List at your favorite restaurant, make Lightning Lane selections with the Genie+ service, use it to unlock your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room door, and more. My family even loves using the
new Disney PhotoPass Lense feature to keep us entertained while we're waiting in line. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do when you arrive at Walt Disney World vacation in a few weeks.
One of my favorite things about the My Disney Experience app is that while every member of your travel party (ages 13 and over) has the option
use the app with their own Disney Account, they aren't required to do so. That means one person can make
Genie+ Lightning Lane selections and Individual Lightning Lane purchases for your whole group or more than one person can join in on the planning fun. During our most recent visit, my husband and I both used the My Disney Experience app, while my parents (who aren't very tech-savvy), chose not to use it and left the planning up to us. No matter which way works best for you, you'll be able to manage all your party's vacation details right from your phone.
Through the My Disney Experience app, you'll also have the option to create a
Disney MagicMobile pass you can store in your device's digital wallet. This basically allows you to use your phone or smartwatch like a MagicBand –– you can tap it to enter the theme parks, use it to make purchases, and more. The really cool thing about this (beyond the convenience) is that you can create Disney MagicMobile passes for your family to use, even if they choose not to use the My Disney Experience app. Here's what you'll need to do to create passes for other Guests:
1. Open the app and tap on "Disney MagicMobile" in the Main Menu.
2. After making a Disney MagicMobile pass for yourself, tap the blue "+" in the top-right corner to add another Guest.
3. Select the names of the passes you want to create from the available list and follow the onscreen prompts to add the pass to your digital wallet.
4. After the new pass has been created, tap "Done" until you return to the main pass screen, then chose "Select Passes to Share".
5. To share each pass individually, select the box next to one of the passes and tap "Share via Messages."
6. Select "Share Pass" on the next screen (you'll need to repeat this part of the process for each person).
This will open up your messages and allow you to text the pass to whomever you choose. After they receive your message, they can tap on the Disney MagicMobile pass and save it directly to their own digital wallet –– no My Disney Experience app needed!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Thomas. I hope this helped to answer your question and I'm wishing you lots of pixie dust during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
