Hi Charlette,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is absolutely gorgeous during the Christmas season, with exquisite decorations that work beautifully with the resort’s cozy theming. You are going to love it!
I checked with a Cast Member, who told me that the resort’s doors are wood, so magnets will not work. You are, however, welcome to decorate using non-permanent materials, such as sticky putty or painter’s tape. Also note that door decorating is not permitted in the Disney Vacation Club Villas, so if you’ll be staying in that section of the resort, you’re invited to decorate inside your room, but not in the outside areas.
Since it sounds like you’re a fan of decking the halls, I hope you’ll find some time to check out the
holiday decorations around the parks and resorts. The Walt Disney World hotel I find completely breathtaking during Christmas is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Their Christmas tree is spectacular, and Disney’s talented pastry artists build a life-size gingerbread house in the lobby. Not only is it amazing to see, it also smells phenomenal! Disney’s Beach Club Resort usually has a gingerbread carousel that is also magical, and the decorated campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are also really special. I love to tour the resorts, tasting holiday treats at each one and taking in the sights, smells, and festive vibes!
Have a
spectacular holiday celebration at Walt Disney World, Charlette!
Wishing you a magical - and merry - vacation,
Robyn
