Hi Mike,
Thanks for coming to planDisney for some guidance on how theme park tickets are priced at the
Walt Disney World Resort. I’m happy to explain the current pricing structure to you and am honored you came to our team for some trusted advice.
Theme park tickets enable you to enter any of the four theme parks for one day, but you can purchase the total number of entry days that suits your family’s plans at once for the best savings and economy of scale. The easiest thing to do is to navigate to the
primary ticketing page and select the exact number of days and starting date for your planned visit. The tool will automatically display the accurate price with an average price per day shown. Please note that theme park tickets are in two pricing categories: children aged 9 and under, and adult tickets for those age 10 and up, for all dates. With these base tickets you can come and go from one specific theme park as many times as you'd like on each day of your trip.
If your family would like the option to experience more than one theme park per day, you may add the
Park Hopper option to your theme park tickets. This is a set price that will apply to all days of your trip, per person, and allow you to visit more than one theme park in a day. For example, you may choose to enjoy Magic Kingdom Park and then “hop” to EPCOT for dinner and fireworks. My family doesn’t often purchase this option given our vacation style, and it may not be easy for first-time visitors to efficiently navigate the theme parks to maximize this option. Many Guests enjoy this flexibility so please know it’s available if you think you would use the value of the add-on purchase.
Special event tickets are a separate purchase and grant you entry to a theme park during select hours on select nights. The current example of this is
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party; Guests who have purchased these tickets may enter the theme park beginning at 4:00 P.M. and the official party activities are from 7:00 P.M. to midnight. At 7:00 P.M. Guests who have the base ticket for the day must exit Magic Kingdom as those times are exclusively for the party goers. If there’s a special event during your visit, it can be a fun way to add on a unique experience while also enjoying the attractions in that park.
Disney’s two water parks also require a separate ticket and are available as a standalone purchase for you to enjoy the many water-based activities and attractions in those separate locations for one day.
I hope this helps you understand the basic structure of tickets at the Walt Disney World Resort. There are many options for your family to find the best value for your theme park time, and so many ways to enjoy your days on this special vacation together. Please
use the great tools on the website to price out a vacation that is a practically perfect fit – you can see all the details and pricing structure before finalizing your purchase.
