I don't think I'm very good at experiencing Epcot the way it should be experienced. Once we do the rides, we just walk around the World Showcase, maybe go in a few shops, that's it.... do you have any ideas for how to have a better, more enriching visit??

    Hi Dara,

World Showcase at Epcot may be my family's favorite area in any of the Disney theme parks.

Now, with my gang, the food is a big part of the attraction. Many of our favorite Disney restaurants -- Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, Via Napoli and Tokyo Dining -- are there. From the time our kids were tiny, we also have enjoyed snacking our way around the world, trying a taste of something different in each of the countries' quick service food venues. There also are many interesting adult libations to choose from.

Be sure to pick up an entertainment schedule before you begin your next tour. You will find bands such as the Off Kilter in Canada, the British Revolution in the United Kingdom and Mo'Rockin in Morocco. Or check out the drummers in Japan or the acrobats in China or the fife and drum corps near the American Adventure. If you time it right, you can work your way around the circuit to see each country's acts.

If you have children, make sure you visit the KidCot stops in each country to make a souvenir craft. In many, the cast members will write your child's name in the country's language for them. Kids (and even grown-up fans of the show) get a real kick out of Phineas and Ferb: Agent P's World Showcase Adventure, where guests use an interactive "evil-detection device" to help defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz throughout the pavilions.

And, finally, make sure you peek inside the pavilions' galleries. You often will find interesting displays. For instance, China's Bijutsu-kan Gallery now has an exhibit about anime and manga. The American Heritage Gallery has a collection of African-American artifacts and art. The Gallery of Arts and History in Morocco features jewelry, textiles and other personal adornment.

I hope that gives you a fuller picture of what the World Showcase has to offer and some ideas about how to get more from your next visit. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Enjoy!
