I don't want to put my finger on a reader. If I go to guest services and they verify my picture I.D., what happens going foward at areas where there are finger readers? Thank you.

    Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for bringing your important question to planDisney! I’m glad to hear that you’re familiar with this option to stop by Guest Relations in lieu of scanning your finger for park entrance. You’re not the only Guest asking about this, as I recently shared the details of this process and workaround for park entry and spoke with another Guest regarding special party tickets. I’m happy to share what you can expect on your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

I spoke with a few Cast Members who confirmed that if you don’t wish to scan your finger at the tapstyle, heading to Guest Relations is the right step. They explained that since this process is managed in person, they cannot confirm exactly what to expect on subsequent park entries. Please ask Guest Relations on your first visit if this step is required for each entry to a theme park, or if they establish a method for you to communicate with the Cast Members at the theme park entrance to streamline your future entry.

Please know that the theme park entry is the only time you need to scan your finger, in normal theme park operations. There isn’t another time or process on your vacation to Walt Disney World where this is required. I hope this helps manage expectations and ease your mind that the detour to Guest Relations should be once a day, at most, to bypass this otherwise standard step for entry. Please see additional information on your privacy and the importance of protecting Guests during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation here, Jeffrey.

I hope your visit next week is an incredible one! Visiting in the new year will be a wonderful way to make some memories together and have some fun to kick off 2024. The weather in early January is so nice without the typical humidity and the crowds should be less than this holiday week for you.

Please let us know what other questions you have as you finalize the details of your exciting vacation.

Wishing you a safe and magical vacation,
    Amy
